About the Artist
Artist Bio
Hollis Walsh Dorafshar has had a dual career of artist and art educator, exhibiting works and teaching elementary through adult students, for over 20 years. She was formally “trained” through the School of Art and Design at Alfred University in New York, where in 1983 she received a B.F.A. Her paintings, which are primarily oil on canvas, have been widely shown in galleries spanning the United States. Hollis has been active in donating works to worthy causes such as, Works of the Heart AIDS Benefit, Safe Child Chair Auction, Planned Parenthood, Boys and Girls Clubs of America and The Lymphoma Society of N.C.
Hollis lives in Raleigh, NC with her husband, three children, a tailless cat and a spotted gecko.
